Javier Emperador Melero, PhD
Born in Spain, Javier has a Bachelor’s in Pharmacy from the University of Salamanca and a Master’s of Science from King’s College London. He completed a PhD in Neuroscience at the VU University Amsterdam studying the secretory machinery of neuropeptides at the Verhage lab. In summer 2018, he joined Harvard Medical School as a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the assembly of the active zone at the Kaeser lab. In 2022 he was granted an NINDS k99/R00 award to start an independent lab, which launches at NYU Langone in January 2025.
